No Left Turnz Thought of the Day

Upon Whose Shoulders

July 7, 2009 · 13 Comments

I am trying for the life of me to figure out upon whose shoulders the largest part of the responsibility lies for the “Democratic Debacle of 2008/2009″.

The Democrats? Even though they did not come close to clearly stating what they would do if they were given the chance during their ridiculous “shampaigns”, WE KNEW EXACTLY WHAT THEY WOULD DO if they were given the chance..

The Republicans by not stepping up before or after the election. Before by not finding a true “leader” to take the fight to the opposition. There was sufficient time to do some scrounging around even as the original “media darling” Rodham was oiling up the machine that would inevitably implode before an unlikely usurper. After the election, their virtual silence has allowed the middle class to be targeted for termination by the Black Plague and his Marxist minions. If ever there was a need for a “leader” to step up as the voice for the loyal opposition, it is now. Actually, it was about six months ago..

The apathetic, the uninformed and the gullible. The tens of millions who “just couldn’t find the time to go vote”.. Their inaction has placed this socialist simpleton into office. The uninformed are those that say “politics doesn’t interest me..” It doesn’t really interest anyone except for those who run for office and then end up inordinately rich because of it, but it certainly does effect you whether you want it to or not.. The gullible were led by the nonsensical advertisements, the veiled and not so veiled accusations of being a racist and their shop stewards. Thank you for being slightly brighter than the light bulb in my refrigerator..

Will any of these mentioned be intelligent enough to see the error of their ways and to “do something about it” come 2010?

    Larry,

Wasn’t it the ‘unseen powers ‘ behind the scene of the Dems that “nominated ” John Mc Cain ? They were confident that they ( with the aid of the MSM, and ACORN, etc. ) could beat Mc Cain. And, with our early primary system, good candidates drop out unnecessarily too soon. Of course the plan worked.

Who should the GOP look at now – perhaps someone whom the Dems hate the most ?

Lets face it – were BHO and Mc Cain the best that the USA had to offer ? I hope not. But, NOW it is time for the best person to step forward, because the imposter in the WH is destroying this country.

Anyone have a good idea as to the plans of Palin? And , did she make the right decision ?

I totally agree with your observations and hit the nail on the head about taxpayer’s frustrations. We are looking for common sense, no nonsense and fiscally conservative leadership and all we are hearing are the crickets chirping. I think that is why so many are frustrated. When is someone going to tell us the truth? If we cannot find them, then the entire Congress should be given their pink slips. We are looking for some sanity in their insane political world. The democrats will only continue to abuse us folks and the republicans will sit back and allow them to abuse us. It’s like watching a rape of our Country and having the republicans watch the rape and view it as entertainment. Where’s the popcorn?

There are some bright spots in the conservative base. Dick Cheney beat Obama on the Gitmo and documents released debate and it was clearly needed. We have Jim DeMint, John A. Boehner and a few others coming forward. But they aren’t exactly receiving the full court press. If they are smart then they need to find a way to get the message out. Use the internet and conservative websites, conservative blogs and grant interviews to people like Larry, Kevin Jackson, Michelle Malkin and a few others. The internet is a powerful tool that the republicans do not use to its to the best of their ability. Nine times out of 10 these people would ask better questions then the softballs they normally throw. When will Brian Williams ask the question that all Americans want to know from Obama. Boxers or briefs? I’ll wait with bated breath for the answer to that question.

Some are showing up on news shows and radio programs complaining that what this President and Congress are doing is against the US Constitution. But what are they doing about it and why aren’t they screaming on top of the Capitol Building along with the Statute of Freedom. We have John McCain bad mouthing Obama and Pelosi; repeating what other republicans are saying on these programs. He’s become a fixture on Fox, but his concerns seem more like campaigning for re-election then any real concern. Why aren’t these elected lawyers filing lawsuits to stop or hamper the destruction to the Constitution? If they are saying it’s illegal then why hasn’t anyone filing a lawsuit against this government? If they can’t, then find an organization such as Judicial Watch or the American Center for Law and Justice to file one, then keep looking for an organization that will.

The republicans have basically remained silent and I don’t understand why. If you care so much about this Country as you say you do, then why are you so silent? Why aren’t they explaining the Democrats agenda and plans for this Country? They appear that they want to give the Democrats the room to do as they please or negotiate a better deal for THEM if they to vote “yea” then what will I get in return? A better Committee position or more funds for their district. They could be letting them hang themselves but it shouldn’t be at the taxpayers or the Country’s expense.

The public seems to be looking for a voice of reason and political sanity and whatever candidate that does that will most likely will get the publics support. But if they are trying to give the liberals enough rope to hang themselves at the expense of the Nation then we are right back voting the less of the two evils.

    JJ,

I think what she might be doing is gaining more national credentials. Senator Lisa Murkowski was appointed by her father the same man that Sarah beat in the primary for Governor and there was some corruption in his administration. Her Senate seat is up in 2010 and we haven’t heard whether she will run again for re-election. Either way I think Sarah will put her name in to run. So she can get more federal government credentials before running for President in either 2012 or 2016. That’s what I am thinking but she has to know whatever she does politically she will continue to be a main target for the left. At this junction they believe they got what they wanted and that all their harassing has paid off. I think Sarah listened to her Republican critics and has acknowledged she needs more federal political experience on her resume. The press hit her over the head repeatedly about her lack of knowledge but even Senator’s who have spent decades in Congress also don’t know enough. Remember Biden’s wrong answer to the role of the Vice President? It was the first thing that popped into my head when she announced she was resigning.

    JJ,

My thought on it has always been as follows:

The Repubs saw this election as one that ANY Democrat could win. As witnessed by the outcome, they were correct.

The media carpet bombing of Bush had the nation wobbling on Republicans (not conservatives) and “change” was in the air.

The ONLY shot that they felt that they had was to go to “Republican Lite” with the “Maverick.”

They put what they thought was the only possibility of winning against the idea of being diametrically opposed to the liberals.

Instead of apples and oranges, the nation got oranges and grapefruit..six of one, half a dozen of another..

They thought that Obama would HAVE to run to the center and McCain was already there..

On Palin, the media is still trying to make a mockery of her as a politician.

We know that the media has no problem castigating female politicians, look what they did to Rodham when she had to face the 143 day wonder..

I hope that she doesn’t run in 2012 and continues speaking and rasing both money and awareness for the cause of conservatism.

It is wide open for someone with some fire. Obama has alot more screwing up to do until 2012. Wait until the filibuster proof Congress gets down to business..

    Thanks as always,

    Larry

I hope the republicans change the primary so that you have to be a registered republican in order to vote. I think too many democrats voted for McCain. By the time the primary came here to Arizona it was a done deal. We had no voice. Very dissappointed.

Now, I am hoping that we have a young, conservative running in a primary with John McCain. John has worn out his welcome here, and its time for him to retire and pass the reins. Otherwise, some democrat might take his seat. We have a lot of liberals moving here from California running from that mess. Yikes!

The libs left Castrofornia and changed Colorado from red to purple and turning blue. We have family there and if sickened me to see all the O’B bumper stickers. They are gaining on us one state at a time.

    AGREE THAT PALIAN SHOULD WAIT
    GO FOR THE SENATE SEAT
MUST CLEAN HOUSE A FOR SENATE IN NEXT ELECTION
STILL LOOKING FOR A CANDIDATE FOR
    POTUS

I agree with Eilene. I told our group at the 4Th tea party we need to read Saul Alinsky’s book and trun the tables on the Dems. It looks as if the ” We the People” group here in Texas is going to start rolling. The internet will be a big part of our plan. As far as congress goes I wouldn’t loose any sleep if 635 were replaced tomarrow. Those of us that are active must double our effort on the blogs, and anywhere there is an oppertunity to express comments. FIGHT!!!! GOD bless the USA.

  • noleftturnz // July 8, 2009 at 2:43 am

    Monica,

    Castrofornia..Very nice..

Awhile back I wrote a “Thought” about someone who had been worried about four or five Obama yard signs on their block.

I asked them to count all of the houses with no signs.

    26.

    That is the silent majority..

The bumpersticker/yard sign crowd are all so proud, they finally had something to put over their Kerry/Edwards stickers..

The left will NOT defeat this nation, APATHY will allow the left to win.

It happened in 2008 and it will happen again in 2010 if we allow it to..

I say that we can’t AFFORD to..

    Thanks as always,

    Larry

    Graywolf,

    TELL THE WORLD.

“Never give up, never give in and never again in 2010″

Everyone who knows a “buyers remorse” Oabam voter..send them here.

Everyone who knows a union man or woman who is tired of getting theirmpockets picked..send them here.

It’s up to us, every little bit will make a difference.

Get verbal. Get mad. Get moving..

    Thanks as always,

    Larry

    Larry,
Fred Thompson. Fred Thompson. Fred Thompson.

  • noleftturnz // July 8, 2009 at 12:40 pm

    Sling,

Fred didn’t want it last time when someone really needed to want it.

Haven’t heard that much from Fred lately but anythings possible.

Why wait? Millions are waiting for someone to step forward. The lack of media coverage of the loyal opposition is an obstacle but the internet still works rather well..

    Thanks as always,

    Larry

It’s to bad that all but a handfull in our government are there for their own agenda rather than for thier country. I have always been for term limits, but how are we going to get term limits when it’s the one’s we want to put that restriction on that will be voteing on the bill. Impossible. The only thing we can do is vote them out, and that has not worked to date. I think we need a new congress and new senate, vote them all out and start over. Where are all the Patiots?

  • quixtop // July 12, 2009 at 9:54 am

    I agree, Kerri

    Stop voting for incumbents.
Our government needs to change it’s people, NOT it’s system.
