Just a few days back, Obama clamored about, “The development of low-carbon sources of energy-everything from wind, solar and geothermal power to safer nuclear energy to cleaner coal..” Let’s take a moment to dissect just the very first element of this unobtainable energy song and dance.
As with ANY and ALL Obama “statements”, you must note the obvious lack of specificity. “..the development of low-carbon sources of energy.” The dirty little secret is that with the ridiculous bushel baskets full of “subsidies” (which will simultaneously enhance the portfolios of the progressives who have “invested” themselves into a “program” that they will force the taxpayers to subsidize, thereby rewarding themselves..) will “produce” inordinately miniscule amounts of “energy”. The “cost ineffectiveness” of this “energy” is irrelevant to the liberals..
As well, note that the vagary of the Obamanomics and the Obama math also results in conveniently nice round numbers that are complete fiction. “..will create a million jobs..” “saved a hundred thousand jobs..” (Actually, Obamanomics is responsible for 2.6 million jobs lost according to the BLS.) (Bureau of Labor Statistics)
The green goons and goblins themselves can’t even seem to agree upon how to properly effect the “change” that they “hope” for.
One greenie installs some windmills and the neighbors take them to court over the noise that it produces. (“Green homeowner hit with noise abatement order..” UK on line 05/27/09) The urge to “green” buildings with energy saving reflective glass on the buildings is apparently confusing billions of birds causing them to fly headlong into the structures and to perish prematurely.. (Fatal Reflections Boston Globe 12/15/08) One bunch of greenies puts up windmills and another group demands that they be removed because of “bird deaths”. (“Wind farms pitch plan to address bird deaths” insidebayarea dot com) Even liberal “lions” with multi million dollar sprawling estates in Hyannis Port don’t want their picturesque views obstructed by the creators of this “low-carbon energy”..
The only “energy” that ever gets produced relative to the alternative or “low-carbon” numbskullerie is the hot air generated by the useless gum flapping over this ineffective cash cow.
The “dirty little secret” hidden by these enviro-kooks is their desire to reduce civilized society to that of the Stone Age. The reasoning behind this is that the average enviro-wacko has, and never will, “achieve” anything of consequence financially. (Exception: Al Gore, enviro-blimp) Their stupidity has never benefited them financially therefor like all liberals, they just seek to bring down those who are their superiors, those who are above them..
The “hidden agenda” is that with the left, misery doesn’t love company, it demands it..

Happy Fourth to the family..
Damien, the newest member of the canine section came home yesterday.
He and Little Butch went for a walk tonight. Butch doesn’t know what to make of his oversized and inordinately energetic new friend..
Basko will NEVER be allowed to be around Damien. The “alpha dog” in Basko will precipitate a fight of an exceptional magnitude, a fight that would probably end up with at least one of them dead and me with an Obama deficit sized amount of stitches.
Writing may seem sparse during the Damien training period. I will try my best to keep up with events but all that I ask is that the readers don’t disappear..
Please stick with NLTZ and thanks as always for the wonderful comments.

Larry:
You certainly will have your hands full with training Damien but, I ,for one, will not disappear. I’m sure that none of your other loyal readers will either. We all look forward to each and every posting.
As for your “alpha dog” situation I fully understand that. I’ve been there, done that with two females and a goodly number of stitches. Fortunately, the deficit wasn’t Obama sized and considering the fight, the injuries were fairly minor. The two girls were definitely kept apart after that.

The “dirty little secret” of the political Left can be illustrated by any one of those “instant make-over” reality shows which were so popular for a while. An ugly duckling is turned into a beautiful swan, in a feat of “instant gratification.” Countless experts, in a “slight of hand”, apply layer upon layer of hair, make-up and plastic surgery over the original faulted foundation. Yes, the results are sometimes spectacular, but, in the real world of day-to-day life, how many hours and at what expense to produce such superficial beauty?
Are the president’s lofty speeches about turning our nation swiftly to green technology any different? Is he not attempting to apply showbiz like “instant gratification” to add storybook beauty to a situation which the numbers actually prove to require a gigantic change to the systemic foundation? Changes which will clearly need much more research, unknown years and countless dollars in the making. Changes which are in the president’s present incarnation (as in these shows) grossly superficial.
How many times have we seen any of Hollywood’s “beautiful people” looking all pimpled-up and frizzy when photographed off-set on a Los Angeles street? How many times have we heard someone like Sean Penn or Geanene Garafalo make gaff after gaff when not reading their rehearsed lines from a well written script? How many times have we now heard this Administration made “off the cuff” remarks with results which were laughably the same?
Senator McCain’s campaign hit the nail on the head when he aired the commercial which drew parallels to Hollywood and the president’s “rock star” status. The challenge to all Conservatives is to intelligently and calmly expose and redirect the many flaws in his hastily written “Michael Moorish” scripts.
Well done, Larry. You’ve accomplished that once again.

The majority of these “Green” energy sources were shown to produce a lot less energy than hoped for, several years ago. Also, if these energy sources had been cost-effective, the industry would have already switched to them. As the free market has alredy proven these technologies do not work, this is obviously just another of Obama’s wealth redistribution schemes!

When I was still in High School and on summer break my Dad and I went out to see my sister who was going to College at Fort Lewis in Durango, Colorado. We took my new (used GM Vega) car and drove to Colorado. It was really fun and interesting to see a lot of our Country. Parts were quite boring (Kansas – nothing but flat land, not much to look at), some were interesting (Nebraska- Buffalo lined up near the interstate like the cows do everywhere else) and some parts were breathtaking like Colorado, Virginia, Missouri and Tennessee. We took the northern route going and the southern route going back. But even back then when we were driving across the plains we saw the windmill energy off the interstate; I think it was in Oklahoma along with the oil pumps. Some enlighten rancher I guess felt the need to utilize the land and save on his energy needs. It struck me as odd but to each his own.
BTW I would recommend seeing American; we have the most beautiful and scenic Country from Maine to Florida from Georgia to California and everything in between. I would do it before the liberals kill it to placate to the environments and their “thinks Green” philosophy. The environmentalist in California made it illegal to remove trees and brush from your own property. As last years fires showed the brush helped the fires along and thousands were made homeless. I saw a report on Fox (I think it was Hannity) about this one home still stood undamaged while all the homes around him perished from the fire. He knew what happens every winter when the Santa Ana winds start blowing so he cut back the brush on his property and trimmed his trees. By doing so he had broken California environmental laws that forbade him from doing that and I believe they were trying to take him to Court for breaking the law. The outcry from the people of the town; some who lost there homes and those that did not came together to defend him and the chargers were dropped. Get ready for the nationalizing this California law as well as so many others that will becomes a federal law. I can smell the compost from here.

So true Larry…the most damning aspect of these “green” hallucinations, is the NIMBY status of the wealthy liberals who demand adherence to the new green gospel, but they themselves will not be expected to sacrifice one hair on their heads. Two of the biggest windmill farms were planned of course in the Northeast (where electric demand is high). And of course where there is adequate wind. Hyannisport and the Hamptons….guess what? Both projects are so tied up in litigation, they will never see the light of day. All the big shot lawyers and judges made sure that their “views”of the ocean would not be obstructed by ugly windmills. Of course if the winds were blowing well in say Levittown Long Island or Parkville MD, the windmills would have been up and running years ago. It never ceases to amaze me that people in this country don’t see the rich and famous “progressives” as the hypocrites they are, and tell them to go take a walk.

Here is a link to a Washington Times Op Ed piece today covering how out of touch with even worldwide opinion on environmental policy the administration and the Dems in Congress who just foisted this cap and trade abortion on the country. It seems like as time goes by this administration is totally unprepared and incompetent. Not that this is any surprise to those of us who were calling in the wilderness. Unfortunately we will ALL have to suffer the consequences unless the “new New Deal” is derailed soon.
